“14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” Isaiah 7:14
Christmas is the pinnacle of God’s faithfulness. There are over 300 prophesies concerning the life of Jesus. The mathematical odds of one person fulfilling just 8 of those prophecies are 1 in 100 quadrillion. The odds of someone fulfilling 48 of the 300 prophecies is 1 in 10 to the 157th power. The odds of someone fulfilling all 300 of them makes them God!
“13 if we are faithless, he remains faithful—for he cannot deny himself.” 2 Timothy 2:13
Prophecy is God’s promise of something He will do in the future. God’s faithfulness is not contingent on our behavior or disposition. God is faithful even when we are not faithful. Faithfulness is not something God does, it is something He is!
Christmas is the fulfillment of a promise God made to mankind at the beginning of time. When Adam and Eve choose to rebel against God’s perfectly designed planned, they opened the door for sin to divide us from harmony with God. Sin corrupted our physical and spiritual nature and that corruption was passed down the human “birthline”. Every person born after this point was intrinsically born separated from God.
The birth of a baby boy to a poor, unknown couple was not a random series of events but a divinely designed moment. The unplanned trip to Bethlehem as Mary was only days away from giving birth and the “No-Vacancy” in Bethlehem, were all signs for us that God’s promise was about to be fulfilled. Your obscurity does not isolate you from the promises of God.
God has made promises to you!
God promises to deliver you from fear. Psalm 34:4
God promises to walk with you through trials. Psalm 138:7
God promises to help you overcome temptation. Hebrews 2:18
God promises to keep you in His perfect peace. Isaiah 26:3
God promises to give you wisdom. James 1:5
God promises to give you the Holy Spirit. Luke 11:13
God promises that all who call on Him will be saved. Romans 10:13
God promises eternal life to those who believe.1 John 2:25
Take hold of God’s promises for your life. His promises are available to you because of Jesus Christ, 2 Corinthians 1:20. God will hold nothing back from you. Continue to hold fast to your faith in Him and remember that He is faithful, for He cannot deny Himself!
